Electric fencing in Pretoria East
An electric fence that is down or keeps false alarming is not protecting anything. We install fences and get faulty ones working again.
Electric fences take a beating. Branches fall on them, wires sag, insulators crack in the sun, and a lightning storm can take out the energiser. When that happens you either get a fence that is silently not working, or one that alarms every few minutes until somebody switches it off.
We install new electric fences on walls and boundaries, repair existing ones and repair or replace energisers. We find where the fence is shorting or broken, rather than just turning it off.

Jobs we get called for
New electric fence installations
Fences on boundary walls, wired to an energiser in a sensible spot.
Fence keeps alarming
Usually a short to the wall, a branch or a broken wire. Found and fixed.
Energiser not working
Repaired, or replaced if it has been damaged.
Broken or sagging wires
Strands, springs and insulators repaired so the fence holds tension.
How we find a fence fault
- 1
We check the energiser first, and whether it has power and is putting out a pulse.
- 2
We test the fence in sections to narrow down where it is shorting or broken.
- 3
We repair the wires, insulators or connections on that section.
- 4
We test the full fence and the alarm before we leave.
Common questions
Why does my electric fence keep going off?
Most often something is touching it, such as a plant or branch, or a wire has broken or shorted against the wall. Wet weather can make a weak spot show up.
Can you fix the energiser after a storm?
Yes. We test it and repair it where we can, or replace it if the damage is too much.
Can the fence stay on during load shedding?
Most energisers have a backup battery. If yours is not lasting, the battery may need replacing. The fence can also go onto an inverter's essentials circuit.
